About Act One

Act One was founded in January 2022 by art consultants Fenella Brownlee and Jenny Webber. Brownlee has worked previously for Frieze Art Fair and as an art curator and buyer at Soho House, whilst Webber is the founder of Fresh Paint, having worked at Portland and Maddox gallery. The duo are always keen to discover new talent in the contemporary art sphere, and connect emerging artists with their growing audience, fostering long-term relationships with artists and makers as well as with their clients. 

Brownlee and Webber use the mantra, ‘would we want this in our own homes?’ when meticulously curating exhibitions and private collections. Artists are carefully vetted, whilst consideration is given to the framing process too, so that buyers can seamlessly bring a piece to life in their own homes. The duo are always on-hand to answer any questions, and to offer their friendly and expert advice whether to first-time buyers or those building a collection.
