Mia Chaplin (b.1990 South Africa ) completed her BFA at the Michaelis School of Fine Art in Cape Town in 2011. Working in oil on canvas and paper, her highly expressive works are characterised by their rich impasto surfaces and visible brushstrokes.

In the last 10 years her career has been growing from strength to strength. She’s held 6 solo exhibitions, including 2 in Amsterdam at No Man’s Art Gallery and has completed residencies at the Nirox Foundation (South Africa), Obras art (Portugal) residencies and Cité internationale des artes (Paris).
